- 5. Supplementation – You have questions, Nick has answers. Discussion of when and what kind of supplementation makes sense
Nick most recently served as the Program Director for the Army-Baylor Master's Program in Nutrition. He also served as an assistant professor at the United States Military Academy. Previously while working at the United States Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine he researched Warfighter nutritional requirements in differing environments to include deployed Special Operators. Prior to that, he taught performance nutrition at the Army-Baylor Graduate Program in Nutrition. Nick received his undergraduate degree in dietetics from the University of Georgia, his master of science in exercise science from California University of Pennsylvania and his doctorate in kinesiology from Texas A&M.
Nick is passionate about improving nutrition and performance in tactical athletes and has the unique perspective of a researcher, teacher, and practitioner who has gone through physically demanding courses such as Ranger School, Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE), Airborne, Air Assault as well as having deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan so he best understands both the academic and applied demands of the tactical athlete. Nick has presented at both national and international conferences on tactical athlete nutrition and performance and his research has appeared in multiple media outlets such as Science Daily and Men’s Journal.

Event Background: At member request, we are testing a monthly health and wellness event. These are purpose designed to be less formal and highly accessible. Show up for all of the event, or just the parts you want.
Love the speaker but can’t work out? Come for the food and talk.
Not interested in the speaker but want to get a workout in? Come for the workout and snag some food before you leave.
Most importantly, show-up because when you make yourself accountable to improving your own health, good things happen. Health and wellness does not need to complicated. Move | Nourish | Learn | Connect on a regular basis and you’re most of the way there.
Justin’s Why: I am donating my time and location for these events. I am reaching out to friends I respect in the health, fitness, & wellness community and getting free or reduced speaking fees. My Why for doing this is because I genuinely want as many people as possible, and especially my friends and fellow EO members, to maximize their health and wellness. To make this happen, literally all you need to do is show up and hopefully encourage just one other person to show up with you (forum mate, friend, spouse, etc.)
