In the Face of a Dismal Economy, EO Hosts Speed Networking Event

LOS ANGELES, Calif.,—Instead of exchanging phone numbers for follow-up dates, the Entrepreneurs’ Organization Los Angeles Chapter (EO-LA) will be trading business cards with other members at their “speed networking” event at 7 p.m. on October 14.

With over 100 members in the EO-LA Chapter, the event was designed to introduce members to one another while facilitating relationship building within the organization.

“The speed networking event is a fun way for our members to get to know each other in an intimate setting,” said Hanna Rochelle Schmieder, President of Lyric Culture. “EO-LA has a very diverse and dynamic membership base and strengthening our relationships internally is a key element to building a successful and powerful chapter.”

Speed dating, a series of short “dates” with a large number of people, is a more common concept of creating relationships. However, the idea was expanded on by EO-LA to make these “dates” five minute business interactions between members.

“By taking the time to enhance the member experience, and that of our chapter-mates, we all gain through the building of stronger bonds, especially in these hard times,” said EO-LA President Jamie Douraghy.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. in EO-LA member Hanna Schmieder’s showroom, located at 1000 Cory Avenue in West Hollywood. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.
