EO Art Club: Rediscovering Play: The Essence of Creation
Paradoxically, Art Club has very little to do with our traditional concepts of “making art.”
Rather than creating for the sake of an outcome or approval, we are making marks on paper while merging with the creative process for the sheer pleasure of it. We are tapping back into the primal creative forces that nourish us and bring color to our life.
If you stopped and asked a child what they hoped to gain from drawing a picture and what their long-term objective was, they would laugh in your face. Yet, as well meaning, successful adults we’ve applied this reductionist compressed, one dimensional logic to nearly everything in our lives, and rendered it colorless and flat. To put the sparkle back into life, we must lift some of the demand for outcomes and stringent requirements of perfectionism and shame.
Art club is playing for adults. Playing is one of the most productive ways for a super successful adult to spend their time.
This gathering is crafted for entrepreneurs to step outside the realm of linear thinking and structured objectives, to foster innovation and reintroduce a sense of wonder and playfulness into both our personal and professional lives.
