Entrepreneurs Compete for Big-bucks Prizes

15 September 2012 – Norm DeDecker made a pitch for riches this week when he explained his landscaping and commercial-services company, NJDeDecker Services Group, to a panel of judges in Detroit.
If the Saginaw State University student made a persuasive argument in the regional finals, his Warren-based company could head to the worldwide finals of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization’s Global Student Entrepreneurs Awards and a grand prize of more than $250,000 in cash and business services.
The 22-year-old business-management major cleared a couple of rounds of the same competition in 2009 when his outfit was tinier. Now, DeDecker believes he has a legitimate shot to advance to the global finals in New York after he explained his company and ambitions to judges in Wednesday’s competition.
