EO Members Worldwide Step Up In Response To COVID-19 Impact

Entrepreneurs around the globe are taking decisive actions to support vulnerable communities during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Alexandria, Virginia, USA (18 May 2020) – Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), the world’s leading peer-to-peer network of successful business owners, is acutely aware of the impact COVID-19 is having on the economy, supply chains, and small to medium-sized businesses worldwide.

With more than 14,000 members worldwide, the organization’s membership has been affected in multiple regions and business sectors. In the midst of this crisis, EO members are connecting, supporting and inspiring one another across the globe. They continue to choose to deploy their leadership skills and network of contacts to benefit regions and populations in need:

  • EO Kenya is supporting a Nairobi-based COVID-19 relief initiative, Team Pankaj, which aims to alleviate suffering for the estimated 2.7 million people living in Nairobi’s slums. With EO Kenya’s support, Team Pankaj has provided relief to 36,000 families across 23 slums in its first 40 days of operation.
  • In the early days of the outbreak, EO Beijing, EO China South, EO Hainan and EO China East members joined forces to form a 56-member volunteer task force dedicated to finding and transporting medical supplies to localities in urgent need. The task force donated and delivered more than 70,000 desperately needed protective suits, 150,000 N95 masks, 434,000 medical masks, and 57,000 goggles to hundreds of mainland China hospitals.

In addition, individual EO members have launched grassroots efforts to support communities affected by the virus and containment efforts.

  • EO Chicago member Andrea Herrera and her company, Amazing Edibles Catering, have shifted their focus from creating memorable events to giving back to the local community. With the support of charitable organizations, they have provided 7000 meals over the past 9 weeks to families at home and first responders in hospitals, police stations, fire stations, and homeless shelters.
  • EO Chennai member Jivesh Goenka and his company, 78 Design, created an engaging “Dear Doctor, Dear Farmer” series of artwork and social media messaging to spread joy and humour throughout their community. Awareness spread rapidly; the government of India also shared the series on its social media platforms.

Extraordinary solutions to extraordinary problems are what EO is all about: A global entrepreneurial community standing together through triumph and adversity.
