Entrepreneurs’ Organization Welcomes Carrie Santos as CEO
Alexandria, Virginia, USA (18 October, 2017) The Board of Directors of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Carrie Santos as EO’s Chief Executive Officer. Santos brings nearly two decades of experience in executive leadership, change management and strategic development of international policy and programs and a strong record of driving operational excellence. She will be based in EO’s Alexandria, VA, USA headquarters beginning on 20 November.
“EO has evolved to become an international organization with membership and key staff located throughout the world,” said EO Global Chairman, Brian Brault. “The inclusive, results-oriented leadership that Carrie brings to the table is precisely what we need to take us to the next level.”
Santos most recently served as Policy Section Chief, Refugee Admissions at the U.S. Department of State, working on cross-cutting policy issues and new initiatives to improve the refugee admissions program. Prior to that, she worked at the American Red Cross as the Executive Director for International Response and Programs
“I’m delighted to be working with such a vibrant and innovative group,” said Santos. “In my experience around the world, I have seen entrepreneurs rebuild their businesses and their communities after disasters and other extreme crises. Their resilience and drive at an individual level helps everyone start to recover. It’s going to be exciting to use my background collaborating with partners internationally to help EO build new global partnerships so members have an even greater impact.”
Santos holds an undergraduate degree from Princeton University and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. In 1988-1989, she was a Fulbright Scholar to Poland during the lead up to Poland’s first free elections since the Communist era.
