EO Oklahoma
members enjoyed a private dinner and presentation by Wes Welker, NFL
star, current wide receiver for the New England Patriots, and native of
Oklahoma City on May 17.
The event, EO Oklahoma's annual Member Appreciation Dinner, was held at
the Devon Boathouse in Oklahoma City and catered by Deep Fork Grill.
Welker took time to meet individual members during a pre-dinner
reception and then made a personal presentation about his rise through
the NFL. Told he was "too small" to compete in the NFL after completing
his successful college football career, Welker nevertheless has become
one of the top receivers in the NFL. He was tied for most receptions in
2007 and led the league with the most receptions in 2009.
After discussing his early career, Welker finished with a frank,
behind-the-scenes view into navigating the business of being a
professional NFL player. He also autographed footballs for members and posed for a few photos.
