Entrepreneurs Organization LI Chapter Hosts Drive In Movie
On Wednesday evening, the Entrepreneurs Organization Long Island Chapter held a drive-in movie night bringing together members and their families for a socially safe and fun night out. Chapter President A.J. Caro created the drive-in movie theater in the parking lot of his business, Arrow Security, in Smithtown. The attendees shared good summer vibes and the excitement of watching the first summer blockbuster, Jaws.
By their very nature, entrepreneurs see challenges as opportunities to create. With many traditional social gathering opportunities sidelined by the pandemic, the members of the Entrepreneurs Organization Long Island Chapter took a challenge and turned it into an opportunity. The drive-In movie night is one of several social opportunities the Chapter has created.
A.J. Caro said, “We have many creative people in our organization with deep and varied resources. We can always find ways to generate some fun.”
Fun may not be the first word that people associate with entrepreneurism, but it is a key component of the lives led by members of the Entrepreneurs Organization Long Island Chapter. Learning Chair Carlo Calcagni, who helped organize the movie night, said, “We host many learning events, but the social events are just as important and often we combine both. We look to produce events that delight and bring something special to our group.”
Some of the events held this year include an evening at the Speakeasy while listening to an expert on business lending and a Couples Valentine’s night with a private chef’s night at Maroni’s in Northport. During the pandemic, the group has held online events including an evening with Richard Stabile, the founder of Long Island Vodka. In the coming weeks and months, the group will hold a raceway event and tour a vineyard.
More than a networking group, the Entrepreneurs Organization Long Island Chapter brings together leading entrepreneurs to learn and grow as individuals and to take their businesses to new heights. Activities include monthly forum meetings, intimate groups of seven to ten entrepreneurs meeting to share experiences, learning events, and social events. During the pandemic, members have shared business strategies, information on government and financial programs and key business contacts to allow their businesses to adjust and adapt to the challenges of the pandemic and find a way to create new ways to serve customers and grow their ventures.
