Please tell us briefly about your company.
SRI
is a systems integration company that designs, builds and integrates
large-scale communication network hubs for major carriers such as
AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, Time Warner, Cisco and others. When you use
a phone, surf the Web or watch cable TV, chances are good you're riding
a network that we helped deploy. We've been in operation for nine years.
Why did you join EO and how long have you been a member?
I joined two years ago for the opportunity to interact with other entrepreneurs. It's been great.
What do you like best about your business?
We
love the fact that we're in an industry where every day, new and
expanded opportunities are created. It's exciting-and moves fast.
What's your current number of employees?
132 employees spread across 17 states.
What is your proudest accomplishment to date in your business?
We
have several. In the beginning years, and against all odds, we achieved
a highly coveted industry certification held by only seven companies
nationwide. Second, recently making "Inc." magazine's list of fastest
growing companies - two years in a row. This is a testament to our
employees and their efforts.
When did you first realize you were going to be an entrepreneur?
In high school.
What do you feel is the greatest accomplishment in your entire life?
Marrying my wife Sarah and raising our children, Joshua and Anna.
Why do you think you have been successful?
Hiring talented employees coupled with passion and commitment.
What is something you hope will be written about you in your obituary?
He did not leave early! He had a way of helping make others' lives a little better.
On a lighter note, what do you do for fun these days?
Tennis, and travel with my family.
Who has the biggest influence on your life?
My parents (Don and Judy) and the foundation of family values, service, religion and ethics they instilled.
What are the most influential books that you have read?
Three Magic Words, by Uell S. Andersen.
What has been the best thing about being a member of EO New Orleans?
Getting to know other entrepreneurs and the wonderful learning opportunities EO offers.
