EO New
Orleans this year awarded the prestigious Marshall B. Klein Entrepreneur of the
Year award to Patricia Brignac Talbot, CEO and Owner of BRDP – Baton Rouge
Duplicating Products, Inc in Baton Rouge.
To be
considered for this award, EO members are nominated by a peer from within their
forum group. “I am honored to
receive this award. My EO Forum
has supported me in striving to have a complete balance in work, family, my
complete self, and community,” Talbot said. “I do not want to regret anything in my life. I live every
day with gratitude, faith, and being present in daily contact with others,” she
said.
Patricia
has worked in the family business for over 20 years and has seen office
technology change over time. Win
Brignac, her father, started the business in 1955 selling and servicing Roneo
Duplicators and now they sell and service several lines of office technology
equipment. She purchased the business in 2006 and became sole owner. BRDP will
be celebrating 55 years in 2010.
Though she didn't know him well, Talbot understands the significance of the award named after long-time EO New Orleans member Marshall B. Klein, who died of liver failure in 2004. Prior to his death, Klein was known as an advocate of striving for balance in all areas of life. The Marshall B. Klein Entrepreneur of the Year Award is given annually to the EO New Orleans member that exhibits clarity of purpose and balance of work, family and community.
