UN Young Change Maker Ananya Birla to present at Women of EO Summit, Athens

Multitalented Microfinancier to Address Entrepreneurs’ Organization

Alexandria, Virginia (26 June 2017) The Entrepreneurs’ Organization, an international association of successful business leaders, announced today that award-winning change agent Ananya Birla has agreed to present at the “Women of EO Summit” in Athens, Greece, 24-26 August. This personal and professional growth summit is designed to unify women entrepreneurs and empower them to live their best lives. At the tender age of 22, Birla has already won many awards for her contributions to Indian business and society. Hailed as a United Nations Change Maker and one of Forbes Asia's Women to Watch, she was just 17 when she set up the social enterprise Svatantra Microfinance, which provides micro loans to rural entrepreneurs, primarily women.

In 2015, Birla set up the MPower mental health initiative. Mpower provides world-class holistic services to people with mental health problems and supports education programs that foster awareness, advocate for prevention and address social stigma towards sufferers.

A talented singer and musician, Birla is signed to Universal Music Group as a recording artist. Her debut single, “Livin’ the Life,” was launched last November and a remix of the song was released by Afrojack last month. She performed with the band Coldplay at the 2016 Global Citizen festival. Last year, she launched a luxury lifestyle platform called Curocarte, which designs and sells unique handmade products from around the globe.

This is the second MyEO “Women of EO Summit,” which follows the success of the 2016 inaugural event in Aspen, CO. Both male and female attendees are welcome, but space is limited to 100. Participants will advance their leadership skills, emerge motivated and make valuable connections.
