LATERAL THINKING EXPLORED AT EO BAHRAIN LEARNING EVENT

Author and consultant leads group through new doors to innovation and creative thinking

Manama, Bahrain (26 October 2011) –  The Bahrain Chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organisation hosted a successful Learning Event led by renowned South African author and consultant Ms Nicola Tyler. Ms Tyler led EO Bahrain members and their guests through thought provoking exercises to think differently in order to open new doors to innovation and opportunities. The event was attended by forty three participants who were challenged to think in alternative and more creative ways and were presented with tools with which the results of their thinking could be transformed into tangible and actionable points. Ms Tyler worked with and was mentored by Professor Edward de Bono who first coined the phrase “Lateral Thinking” and who is a leading proponent of the deliberate teaching of thinking as a subject in schools.

EO Bahrain believes that learning is at the core of being an entrepreneur. The Chapter works diligently to organise such events on a frequent basis in which world leading experts and speakers are invited to Bahrain to share their experience and expertise with EO Bahrain members and their guests. This latest EO Bahrain Learning Experience was held on Tuesday 25th October, 2011 at the newly opened Kempinski Hotel at the City Centre Mall in Manama.

“Entrepreneurs are the engines of growth in any economy and market. Core to being an entrepreneur is the thirst for learning and the willingness to receive new ideas,” EO Bahrain Chapter president Abdulrahman Almoayed said. “Through our various efforts at EO Bahrain, we do our part in contributing to the continued growth and success of our country through enacting the tenets of entrepreneurship in our members and inspiring them to reach for new horizons. This Lateral Thinking workshop is a perfect example of how we do add value to our membership” he concluded.

The EO Bahrain Chapter’s Learning Chairman and Board Member Mr Luay Khalaifat said that he was very satisfied with the feedback he received from this workshop’s attendees and was encouraged to continue in his ambitious Learning program; “as entrepreneurs we believe in measuring and evaluating everything in order to progress. This event was rated at 88% overall by the attendees who overwhelmingly appreciated Ms Tyler’s presentation. With this very high rating, we have set a new benchmark which we’ll strive to surpass with our future events by continuing to offer better value to our attendees. I would like to thank Ms Tyler especially for living up to the expectations and extend my thanks also to all the participants for making this event a success. More importantly, I hope that every participant has taken with them enough disruptive ideas through which new and different ways of thinking could be explored to their benefit.”
