EO Toronto Names Jim Estill and Michael Hyatt as Chapter Patrons

The Toronto chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), the world’s leading peer-to-peer network of successful business leaders has named Jim Estill, CEO of Danby Appliances and Michael Hyatt, Executive Chairman of Bluecat as its Chapter Patrons this year. As EO celebrates 30 years of significance, chapters have been encouraged to invite entrepreneurial superheroes and leading public figures as patrons to share their knowledge and insights with the EO community.

Jim Estill, a technology entrepreneur, executive and philanthropist, started a computer distribution company from the trunk of his car in university. He then grew that business to bring in $350 million in sales and also became the CEO of the company that went on to buy it. He continues to invest in and mentor technology companies and is a multiple recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and has been awarded an Everyday Heroes Award by the Global Hope Coalition.

Michael Hyatt was a self-made millionaire by the age of 25. He built two highly successful tech firms valued in the hundreds of millions and today he ranks as one of Canada’s pre-eminent investors in start-ups and was one of Canada’s Top 40 under 40 by age 33. Michael also helps mentor youth and other entrepreneurs to succeed and contribute to their communities. His main focus has always been on people and companies that try to make an impact.

“Jim Estill and Michael Hyatt are not just leading Canadian entrepreneurs but individuals that actively also seek ways to create positive impact and ‘make a mark’. We are honored to have them both as our chapter patrons and hope our members draw the inspiration to achieve their business goals and also find ways to give back to people and the community,” said EO Toronto President, Mary Evelyn.

Entrepreneurs' Organization was launched in 1987 and in the 30 years since, it has grown to over 12000 members in 171 chapters and 53 countries.
