EO an Official Partner for the 2020 Entrepreneurship World Cup

EO members to provide virtual mentorship sessions to the 100 finalists of the Entrepreneurship World Cup, a global competition to identify the world’s most promising startups.

Alexandria, Virginia, USA (28 May 2020) - Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), the world’s leading peer-to-peer network of successful business owners is an official partner for the 2020 Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) to support bright startup entrepreneurs from around the world through mentorship. An initiative by the Misk Global Forum, Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) and the Global Education and Leadership Foundation, EWC is a global competition to identify the world's most promising startups. Through five stages, EWC provides entrepreneurs access to tools and resources to help take their venture to the next level.

Speaking about this collaboration, EO External Engagement Committee Chair, Michael Ross said, “EO and the Entrepreneurship World Cup have similar goals through our shared commitment to empowering entrepreneurs with strategic learning for accelerated growth. We’re excited to be pillars of support for the Entrepreneurship World Cup. We value the opportunity to engage with the community and lend our expertise to help other entrepreneurs in their journeys.”

Regarding EO’s mentorship program, Michael Ross added, “EO has a formal mentorship program that pairs mentors and mentees to achieve high-level leadership and personal development within a structured timeframe. Through this partnership, our member volunteers will help the EWC competition finalists work toward goals and establish personal accountability, while supporting them through experience-sharing and engagement.”

Last year, more than 102,000 entrepreneurs at every level – idea stage, early stage and growth stage – from 187 countries competed for USD$1 million in cash prizes, USD$20 million in in-kind support and additional investment opportunities.

Highlighting the significance of the ongoing partnership, Jonathan Ortmans, President, Global Entrepreneurship Network said, “Insights and active support from successful and experienced entrepreneurs make a tremendous difference in helping bright startup entrepreneurs regardless of where they are around the world. Thanks to this continued partnership with EO, entrepreneurs at all stages can leverage a considerable amount of experience and expertise to help them compete in the Entrepreneurship World Cup and beyond as they start and scale their venture.”

EO educates, transforms, inspires and offers entrepreneurs invaluable resources in the form of global events, leadership-development programs and executive education opportunities, among other offerings designed for personal and professional growth.
