A Rendezvous in La La Land

In July earlier this year, Kanika Dewani – Marcomm Co Chair at EO Nagpur – was to fly down to the United States. She was going there to attend a beauty trade fair in Las Vegas and figured she could make the most of her time by meeting up with other entrepreneurs and business-owners like her during the visit.

 So a week before her travels, Kanika found herself writing to Mr Abhay Mehta – President, EO South Asia – who in turn connected her with the President of EO LA.

 “To be honest, I only arranged for a meet because I was a little apprehensive about travelling alone to the states”, admits Kanika. While she had expected a certain level of formal courtesy from her American peers, she was pleasantly surprised by the warmth with which she was received by the members of EO Inland Empire. “They made sure that I was absolutely at ease with them. Frank (President) and Crystal (Marcomm Chair) were personally present to show me around and I got an opportunity to hear so much about their ways of working, their experiences and their culture throughout our meet”, she shares. During their interaction, she was also introduced to other members of the EO LA clan - Marveina Peters, Jeremiah Adler, Janine Zappini and Gene Lim. For Kanika, it was an instant connect –

 “These guys came from all over the place – real estate, snacks, investment – and yet their bond was so amazing! All the while I could feel it rubbing off onto me!”

 Kanika’s experience with EO LA and EO Inland Empire is proof that when you become part of a rapidly growing global fraternity like EO, you will find your tribe no matter where you are. There are young entrepreneurs across the globe that are just as passionate, dynamic, restless and crazy as you are and these are the people you are going to be wanting to meet, learn and grow with when you travel across the world.
