Former India President Meets with EO Oman

On 20–21 November, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India, travelled to the Sultanate of Oman to discuss issues of mutual interest, economic scientific collaboration and ways to enhance bilateral friendly relations between India and Oman

During an interactive session titled “Business Opportunities in India,” Dr. Kalam met with representatives from EO Oman, including Khaula Al Harthy, Qais al-Khonji, Haitham Al-Lawati, Nikjil Dauria, Ishan Dharamsey, Shikhar Dharamsey, Sujay Hamlai, Hassan Juma, Niti Karsandas, Nailesh Khimji, Vishal Kothary, Nikhil Sampat and Salah Sultan.

Dr. Kalam stated, “Oman and India have ample opportunities for collaboration in diverse sectors. Both have formulated Vision 2020 strategies. And further, both the countries have not been impacted by the global financial crisis. The GCC-India free trade agreement and the proposed Oman-India subsea gas pipeline will fuel growth.”
