WINNER to compete in 2019 Global Finals in Macau, China for a Chance to
win prizes valuing in US$40,000
Dhaka– 24.11.2018 Naziba Naila Wafa, student of
BBA, Brac University became the proud winner of the Global Student Entrepreneur
Awards (GSEA) “National Competition”, a program of the Entrepreneurs’
Organization (EO) Bangladesh. Naziba
bested her competitors with her innovative Resurgence, biro-degradable sanitary
napkin business including slum women that she runs while also attending
university. The judges selected Naziba based on her business idea, excellent
presentation skill and smart responses during the question answer session.
This national student entrepreneur will go on to
represent Bangladesh at the 2019 GSEA Global Finals in Macau, China. He will be
competing against the top student entrepreneurs from around the world in the
hopes of winning over US$40,000 in cash and donated prizes.
In order to qualify for this award contest, an
individual has to be an undergraduate student and the owner of a
for-profit/social enterprise structured (revenue generating) business that has
operated for at least six consecutive months.

I’m very excited to meet peers around the world.” said Naziba, winner of GSEA
national competition.

and it has been inspiring to listen to the stories and presentations of the
contestants whose businesses look beyond generating profit to bring social

Mr. Kazi M Aminul Islam, Chairman, Bangladesh
Investment Development Authority (BIDA) has graced the event with his presence
as the chief guest.
Mr Kazi Mahboob Hassan, CTO, Grameenphone, Ms Tina
Jabeen, Investment Advisor, StartUp Bangladesh, Mr Mominul Islam, Managing
Director & CEO of IPDC Finance ltd were also present as guests of honor.
The jury for the grand finale was Mominul Islam, MD
& CEO, IPDC Finance ltd, Minhaz Uddin Anwar, Head of StartUp Ecosystem,
Grameenphone, Hossain Khaled, Managing Director, Anwar Group and Syed Almas
Kabir, President Basis.
Five
student entrepreneurs from different universities has competed head to head in
this finale against each other for this prestigious award.
