Training Community Director (Virginia Headquarters)

The Training Community Director has the opportunity to touch and positively influence all of EO’s Facilitators, Trainers, Chapters and EO global staff through strategy summits and collaboration amongst communities.  This person will serve as an expert resource to all departments on Trainer/Facilitator selection, training and management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategy Summits:
  • Manage the Strategy Summit Facilitator Community, which includes:
    • Facilitator Selection process
    • Continual evaluation of facilitator role and corresponding job description
    • Supporting community with ongoing issues that arise
    • Continually enhancing the training experience for the Facilitators
  • Execute and evaluate the annual facilitator survey, including:
    • Review the previous year survey, making a decision if there should be any changes to the program
    • Refresh survey annually to ensure we are asking the right questions
  • Develop and manage, in conjunction with strategic communications, a strategy Summit Marketing and Communications plan, inclusive of marketing online, at GLC, President’s meetings, etc.
  • Serve as strategy summit lead for train the trainers
  • Primary staff liaison to the Strategy Summit Director that that subcommittee
  • Plan annual Debrief – planning, providing structure content and creating plan to implement change that comes from this meeting
  • Primary content lead for summits, including:
    • Facilitator Manual
    • Participant Workbook 
    • PPT deck         
    • Continually improving and reviewing assets to meet the demands of facilitators and chapters.
Strategic Initiatives:
  • Staff lead for EO Training Week: This will be the combined training of Mentorship, Accelerator and Strategy Summit Communities. This includes management of the staff project team.
  • Evaluate and implement efficiencies across training communities, to potentially include:
  • Standardization of selection, training, contracting, payment, scheduling, etc.
  • Continue to look for opportunities to improve and leverage and train these communities together
  • Develop a “council” of leaders from each of these communities to consult with as necessary on the efficiencies as well as new opportunities.
  • EO Facilitator Workshops: Currently the Leadership Committee is looking at implementing levels of Facilitator Workshops as an EO product (Basic, intermediate, advanced or something similar). We are piloting content and will be white papering this to global board. This person will be key lead on the development and ongoing management of that program.
  • Develop “EO” Training for these communities – consistent messaging on the organization, its initiatives, products, leadership as well as an understanding of the governance policies affecting them
GLC:
  • Develop chapter officer training curriculum and supporting materials for GLC. This curriculum should align with other member leader onboarding and training initiatives happening as well as align with the strategy summit content.
  • Selection of the GLC Facilitators – develop a process based on past experience that fits this program and manage that process.
Effectively manage the Training Coordinator (TC):
  • Schedule weekly one-on-one meetings to review and debrief on all program progress, updates, development and execution (other items as necessary);
  • Create agenda for weekly meetings and manage meeting time effectively;
  • Research and suggest professional skills development courses/trainings for the TC to attend/complete;
  • Create, provide and explain documents/templates for the TC to use to ensure communication with members, staff, vendors, et. al, are professional, clear and concise; 
  • Review and evaluate the progress of the TC bi-yearly (at 6 and 12 months), and provide discussion, explanation and tools that will help to sustain, improve and/or bolster the successful completion of tasks/projects of the TC.
Misc:
  • Serve as a leader on the Products team
  • Other duties and assignments as necessary

Education and/or Experience: 

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of project management and execution experience
  • Experience with database and excel management
  • Experience coordinating with other departments
  • Exceptional communications skills both internally and externally
  • Exceptional customer service
Preferred:
  • Computer software skills training
  • Personal development training

Mathematical Skills: 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers and calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, decimals, percentages, proportions and ratios to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and/or oral form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, talk, and hear.  The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools, and controls.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.  Required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and abilities to adjust focus to read and type documents on a computer screen.

Additional hours may be required during periods of heavy workload.  Flexibility is required in the daily work schedule to accommodate tasks.

Work Environment:

The employee is normally required to work in a high-rise building equipped with elevators in an environment where the noise level is usually moderate. 

May be assigned to an internal work space without windows to the outside, located in close proximity to other office personnel.

Ability to work in a fast pace and high pressure environment.
