Director of South Asia (Home Office Set-up)

Job Summary:

We're looking for someone to lead the development and growth of the South Asia region (SA) one of EO's most innovative and fast-growing markets. Currently the region has 15 chapters with more planned for the new fiscal year.  South Asia has several initiatives to expand awareness, increase their community and engage with fellow members, partners and supporters via EO's products and services.  The Director will have experience with member-driven organizations and managing staff in remote locations to execute current programs, create new initiatives, stabilize operations, build internal communication channels and motivate the regional staff to perform to their best abilities.  We're looking for someone who embodies EO's core principles of teamwork, creativity, service, professionalism, trust and respect and having fun!

South Asia Region:
Today, EO's South Asia Region comprises of chapters in

×         Coimbatore
×         Gujarat
×         Hyderabad
×         Indore
×         Jaipur
×         Kolkata
×         Mumbai
×         Nepal
×         New Delhi
×         Pune
×         Punjab
×         Raipur
×         Uttar Pradesh

There are over 1,000 members in SA Region.  Quite a few of EO's global programs originated first as an SA regional program.  Renewal numbers in this region are one of the strongest as is engagement overall.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Director, South Asia will be guided by the bylaws and policies as established by EO's Board of Directors.  When we think of the responsibilities of one of EO's staff leaders, here's what we envision this person to be:


Team Leader
×         Manage the current SA team (manager and coordinator) to achieve independent and group goals
×         Continuously train the staff on world class customer service
×         Own the team's agreed upon priorities and direct individuals to execute on those priorities.
×         Coach and mentor staff; develop high-performance teams and inspire them to pursue personal and professional growth.
×         Report weekly and monthly the activities of the region and current membership status
×         Be an EO ambassador at local, regional and global events
×         Focal point for all activities in SA region

Regional Health and Growth
×         Drive the regional business plan to attain regional goals, together with the SA Regional Council.
×         Responsible for SA Region budget and future recommendations
×         Advise Regional Council director and other council  members when necessary
×         Provide institutional knowledge and best practices
×         Remove overall red flags from region
×         Identify opportunities and dangers and plan for pursuing opportunities and minimizing dangers
×         Ensure success of regional gatherings (Regional Council meetings, SA Presidents Meetings and more)
×         Ensure regional events meet objectives and run smoothly
×         Oversee special initiatives (e.g. white papers on new member categories for SA)
×         Weekly touch-base and collaboration with the SA Business Development Director on chapter launches and strategic alliances, supporting where needed

Chapter Health and Growth
×         Ensure the health and growth of all SA chapters
×         Monitor any potential dangers (e.g. percent drop in renewals, limited recruitment)
×         Collaborate with chapter boards on ensuring the success of their programs and activities
×         Create communication channels to keep chapters informed of regional and global information and activities.
×         Handle membership related escalation concerns- basic solicitations, policies and procedures questions, problem resolutions, etc.
×         Know EO's membership benefits and continuously communicate those to members
×         Lead member renewal processes yearly.
×         Coordinate succession planning in chapters and ensure role hand-offs
×         Drive Path of Leadership process to identify and select member leaders
×         Attend chapter strategy summits; provide information to chapters about global benefits and resources; take and distribute notes.
×         Monitor the checklist of each chapter for EO's "Rock Star" program, ensuring chapters interested in vying for Rock Star status meet each checklist deadline
×         Drive the participation in the member satisfaction survey and follow up with team to ensure member satisfaction.
×         Ensure participation at the Global Leadership Conference
×         Encourage SA members to attend regional learning events and global programs
×         Help nominate and prepare applications for yearly awards

Additional Business Development
×         Provide strategic advice on improvements in marketing, communication, chapter management and outreach
×         When possible, take the lead to drive a new initiative in SA region
​×         May be required to support your supervisor (VP, APAC/SA region) as well as Senior Vice President/executive team as needed for special projects related to SA region
 

Education and Experience: 

Required:
×         Bachelor's degree
×         3+ years of experience at senior/executive level in association management or related business experience. 
×         In-depth comprehensive understanding of association management- interworking, committees, councils and other volunteer groups.
×         3+ years managing staff, especially remote staff and implementing personnel procedures
×         Track record in dealing with complex issues and guiding teams towards solutions
×         Strong written and verbal communications skills
×         Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills
×         Ability to interact with entrepreneurs with tact diplomacy and poise
×         Ability to travel regionally and globally
×         Exercises confidentiality and discretion

Desired:
×         Has lived and worked in a different culture or has substantial experience working with regional teams
×         Bilingual or multilingual
×         Has experience in either marketing / sales / business development / external relations
×         Familiar and/or interested in technology and how next generational tools can be used to reach organization goals
