Director Chapter Learning (Virginia Headquarters or Home Office set-up)

The Director of Chapter Learning has the opportunity to touch all of EO’s membership through the chapter learning and virtual learning experience.  The Director will oversee the support of the Chapter Learning and Virtual Learning Subcommittees, along with all Learning Directors, and Virtual Learning programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage Chapter Learning Program

  • Serve as the main liaison for the Chapter Learning Sub-Committee; ensure chapters have the necessary tools, templates, and support to provide quality learning for members locally
  • Serve as the liaison for all Learning Directors; provide support through monthly calls, continued coaching, etc.
  • Serve as the liaison for all the events/learning staff in regions that support Learning Chairs and Learning Directors
  • Direct the content development for Learning at the annual Global Leadership Conference for electives and for keynote slots.
  • Oversee Learning Director Training at GLC; develop content, assist in facilitation, and provide best practices, etc. to assist LD’s throughout their year
  • Direct content and development of the GLC Learning track
  • Develop and manage Learning Award criteria and process
  • Oversee management of the Speaker Database – work with Learning Coordinator to ensure that Chapter Learning Chairs input speakers; ensure that speakers’ profiles are updated, etc
  • Create monthly Learning content with Learning staff counterparts for Leadership News
  • Report Learning progress/goals on Board report (learning checks, etc.)
  • Develop processes to help chapters meet learning criteria for Rock Star award
  • Research new as well as improve and develop existing chapter learning tools
  • Advances the development of resources available (ex. the Speaker Database, Events in a Box tool kit)
  • Oversee EO Global learning support of Multi-Chapter Events
  • Coordinate chapter learning information to regions to include relevant information, tools, materials, and dates.  Ensure communication flow in both directions.

Manage Virtual Learning Manager

  • With Manager, help develop the strategy of  Virtual Learning Programs
  • Assist manager with virtual learning program administrative tasks.
  • Oversee successful execution of EO24
  • With Manager, oversee and manage the Virtual Learning Budget
  • Other duties and assignments as necessary

Education and/or Experience: 

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of education development and execution experience
  • Experience with online training content
  • Experience Managing Program budgets and coordinating with other departments
  • Exceptional communications skills both internally and externally
  • Exceptional customer service

Preferred:

  • Masters’ Degree
  • Membership in either PCMA, ASAE, ASTD or other appropriate professional development organization
  • Computer software skills training
  • Personal development training

Language Skills:  Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.  Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing members, staff, managers, clients, and the public.  Ability to understand oral instructions and to ask for clarification when necessary. 

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers and calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, decimals, percentages, proportions and ratios to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and/or oral form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, talk, and hear.  The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools, and controls.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.  Required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and abilities to adjust focus to read and type documents on a computer screen.

Additional hours may be required during periods of heavy workload.  Flexibility is required in the daily work schedule to accommodate tasks.

The employee is normally required to work in a high-rise building equipped with elevators in an environment where the noise level is usually moderate. 
May be assigned to an internal work space without windows to the outside, located in close proximity to other office personnel. 
Professional workplace where business and business casual attire is required.
Ability to work in a fast pace and high pressure environment.
