ENTREPRENEURS’ ORGANIZATION ANNOUNCES GLOBAL CHAIRMANSHIP FOR LOCAL MEMBER

Gus Valen, founder of the Valen Group promoted to Global Chairman

CINCINNATI, OH – The Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) announced today that three members of the Cincinnati chapter have been promoted to global positions in the organization. Gus Valen, CEO and managing partner of The Valen Group, a Cincinnati-based strategy and innovation consulting firm, has been named to the Global Chairman track, a 3-year commitment that will have Gus serve as Chairman of the current 8,100 member organization in 2014. This is a special privilege for the Cincinnati business community that will bring attention to the tri-state and its entrepreneurial business community.

Gus has served as local chapter President and risen through the ranks in various regional positions before being named Chairman of the global organization. “Taking time to volunteer as a global leader not only helps the organization, but the member-leader. I have learned how to be a better entrepreneurial leader by spending time volunteering in EO,” Gus says. “Get engaged in EO. It’s the best thing you could ever do to help you learn and grow as a leader.”

Chris Frutkin, President of City Center Properties, is well-known in the Over-the-Rhine community for his ability to bring new energy and life to the business community there. Chris has also served as chapter President and Regional Director. This year, Chris will take over as the Chair of EO’s Global Technology Committee, reporting directly to the Global Board of the organization. “Contributing to EO Global is one of the most gratifying things I have ever done. Participating constantly increases my energy and passion,” Chris says. “I truly feel that entrepreneurship makes the world a better place, something my children can be proud of.”

Jamie Gerdsen, President of Apollo Heating, Cooling and Plumbing, who also once served as the Cincinnati chapter President, is helping to found the Global Paths to Leadership Sub-Committee and serve as its first Chair. Jamie says he is “humbled by the opportunity to help over 8,100 EO members understand how to learn and grow as entrepreneur leaders. The organization is one of dynamic and impactful opportunities for individuals to help lift local and global economies.”
