MORE than 50 representatives of private sector companies have taken part in a workshop on the importance of information and communication technology (ICT) to businesses.
It was organised by Tamkeen and featured an overview of its Private Sector Support and Human Capital Development programmes, as well as an extensive introduction to the ICT Finance Scheme.The ICT Finance Scheme is a BD1 million initiative launched by Tamkeen to enhance the capacity of businesses to absorb ICT systems in their operations and processes."Tamkeen is very keen to liaise with the different societies and associations to promote its supportive programmes and initiatives," explained Tamkeen private sector support manager Dr Mohammed Amin."This workshop with the Entrepreneurs Organisation enabled Tamkeen to showcase and promote one of its newly launched programmes, which is the ICT Finance Scheme."The participants enriched the workshop with their experiences about the role ICT may play in promoting competitiveness and productivity of the small and medium enterprises," Dr Amin added.
