Meet Tim Jaques

Tim Jaques co-founded Line of Sight in 2005, and assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer in 2009. A long time management consultant, his career began with a serendipitous meeting to discuss a business plan he had written for a local small business. That conversation inspired Tim to align his career with his passion for helping businesses succeed. He has led government and commercial organizations through a wide array of business transformations. As CEO of Line of Sight, he is responsible for the growth and smooth operation of a fast growing professional services company.

Mr. Jaques has architected major change initiatives in a diverse set of business sectors including insurance, not-for-profit, government, transportation, energy, and technology. Mr. Jaques brings a data-driven approach to change, finding new paths forward with insight into human patterns. Throughout all of his efforts, Mr. Jaques brings a highly creative approach, employing visual tools and engaging approaches to leverage the talents and strengths of the team.

A master facilitator, Mr. Jaques has led dozens of teams through strategic planning, process development, and executive decision-making initiatives. He brings a strategic mindset to these engagements, developing simple, stepwise solutions to complex, often divisive issues. His engagements often spur innovative new directions for teams and organizations. Mr. Jaques has authored numerous strategic plans for commercial and governmental organizations. Recently, he developed the Strategic Planning Collaborative, a highly interactive five-part course for executives to develop practical strategic plans, while sharing best practices.

Mr. Jaques has written extensively on project management, organizational change, and the planning-execution cycle.  He co-authored “Achieving Project Management Success in the Federal Government,” published in early 2010. This book, nominated for the Project Management Institute’s Book of the Year, delivered the first-ever view of project management across the Federal Government, presenting the processes, methods, tools, and case studies across the Federal Government agencies. Mr. Jaques has co-authored numerous chapters for textbooks, and authored dozens of papers and articles. Mr. Jaques is currently working on a new book that addresses how individuals and organizations cope with change. This new book will examine change through some of the latest research on human motivation.
