Virtual Learning Manager (Home office set-up)

The Manager of Virtual Learning (MVL) is responsible for the execution and results of the department’s virtual learning and executive education programs and events (not limited to virtual learning events, executive education events, global meetings, and global events). 

The MVL works in cooperation with staff and committees to produce quality learning products that meet member needs, research, and executes the strategic planning goals from the VP of Learning and Director of Virtual Learning related to virtual learning programs. 

The MVL is responsible for coordinating the educational content for assigned learning events, managing technology platforms, assisting with the execution of the learning event pre-program, on-site, and post-program (when applicable), and managing the relationship with speakers). S/he also guides the learning experience by supporting member leaders and subcommittees with expertise and ideas. 

The MVL is responsible for marketing learning products through established and innovative channels as well as cross-promoting learning events, when possible. In addition, the MVL is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on data from virtual learning usage and should offer strategies to reach wider audiences. S/he also supports the committees by attending or liaising to the Virtual Learning Subcommittee and other learning committees when asked. 

The MVL is supervised by the Director of Virtual Learning, and works cooperatively within the Learning team



Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • > Collaborate with the Manager of Executive Education or Manager of Chapter & Event Learning to execute future executive education events where in-person and virtual learning are happening simultaneously
  • > Overseeing, producing virtual learning footage (video, podcast, simulcast) from global events and learning programs
  • > Working through technical challenges of virtual offerings that limits challenges members may encounter
  • > Real-time data collection and analysis of virtual programs
  • > Overseeing the recruitment and registration process for online attendees of simulcast programs
  • > Working collaboratively with vendors, attendees, speakers, and SMEs to develop robust solutions, design customized curricula, and design programs to enhance the learning experience of members
  • > Assist in marketing efforts of virtual programs to internal and external audience
  • > Sourcing speakers for slots at conferences, events, and virtual learning platforms including vetting and ongoing communication and preparation
  • > Collaborating with program chair(s)/learning chair(s) to create the learning objectives, theme(s) and overall learning curriculum for assigned events
  • > Managing assigned products and events within timelines and budget parameters while meeting or exceeding the Learning Department and GEES chair's requirements and/or expectations.
  • > Overseeing the management of the program on-site, including staff office and speaker logistics, on-site staff team, management of vendors and F&B, signage distribution of program forms and materials, oversees AV and transportation, and other duties as needed. Provide exceptional customer service to guests and colleagues.

  • > Planning and executing signature virtual learning events
  • > Researching technology platforms and vendors to be used in emerging offerings
  • > Developing content that makes up executive education programs' agendas by collaborating and liaising with each program's facilitator/champion and the GEES.
  • > In collaboration with the Director of Virtual Learning, negotiate, prepare contracts and manage speaker/ vendor travel and accounting. In collaboration with the Manager of Chapter & Event Learning, source new speakers for the EO speakers database
  • > Managing a variety of personnel pre-program and on-site during the learning program, including but not limited to: staff assigned to assist with the learning program; program facilitator/emcee; all speakers; vendors; event committee members; and Global Board member(s)
  • > In tandem with the Manager of Chapter & Event Learning and Manager of Executive Education, work cooperatively with the Coordinator of Global Learning to support all areas of learning. Communicate to ensure timely communication with members, launch of programs, and assessment of programs. Provide a cooperative environment so that the Coordinator of Global Learning may perform at optimal levels of success.
  • > Ensure that EO learning events are executed with excellence that meet member needs and EO expectations
  • > Represent learning and the products department at events
  • > Developing and maintaining EO's executive education and virtual learning program calendars
  • > Leading and contributing to cross functional teams to ensure success of programs, working very closely with Communications and Finance, to (respectively) provide learning content for the event website and marketing material; and set educational program revenue goals and manage approved budget and goals. 
  • > Providing assistance to the Learning Team including support with global learning events, virtual learning, committee support, or partnership events, as assigned
  • > Maintaining knowledge on best practices in area of executive education and comparative offerings of other agencies to share with management team and/ or committees
  • > Demonstrating the ability and willingness to work with ease across cultures and geographies.
  • > Other duties as assigned


Travel Requirements: Individual must be available to travel to various events as assigned. Domestic travel requirements can be up to approximately 40 days/year; international travel requirements can be up to approximately 40 days/year.

Education and/or Experience: 

Required:

  • - Bachelor's degree in education, technology or related field
  • - 3- 5  years' experience in of education development and execution experience, preferably in the non-profit environment (experience in lieu of education will be considered)
  • - Virtual learning experience
  • - Experience with data analytics, particularly in the virtual environment
  • - Experience managing program budgets and coordinating with other departments
  • - Exceptional communication skills both internally and externally
  • - Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and members from around the world
  • - Excellent organizational and time management skills

Preferred:

  • - Experience with online training content (webinars, podcasts, live streams)
  • - International experience a plus
  • - Non-English speaking language skills a plus
  • - Extensive experience working with member-led committees and facilitators 

Language Skills: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to members, staff, managers, clients, and the public.  Ability to understand verbal instructions and to ask for clarification when necessary.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers and calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, decimals, percentages, proportions and ratios to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written and/or verbal form.

Additional hours may be required during periods of heavy workload.  Flexibility is required in the daily work schedule to accommodate tasks.

Work Environment:  This position is required to work from a home office. EO will help you acquire all necessary equipment to operate including laptop, printer, stationary, office furniture etc.
