Area Manager, Canada (Home office set-up)

The Area Manager assists in creating healthy, growing chapters that consistently deliver the EO brand to their members. The Area manager will provide guidance to the chapters, chapter leadership and the Regional Council members consistent with the mission and vision statements of the Global Organization.  The Chapter Manager will advise chapter board officers on standard chapter operations and best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • - Manage a portfolio chapters (5-8), building relationships and helping to provide a valuable member experience
  • - Identify strategies to promote membership growth and retention; proactively seeking solutions to boost member interest
  • - Answer questions and assist members and member leaders from the region to ensure a stronger membership experience
  • - Provide clear and concise communication regarding the direction and requirements of the Global Organization to the chapters and ensuring proper representation of the EO Brand
  • - Promote EO Global initiatives, best practices and provide Global updates to chapters
  • - Advocate needs of the chapters to Global organization
  • - Act as the main point of contact for all chapter leaders, working with them to resolve all questions and concerns
  • - Aid in chapter strategic planning and execution during annual summit meetings, monthly area calls, and other scheduled chapter events
  • - Work closely with the Area Directors and serve as the direct liaison for relaying functional information to the region
  • - Serve as the main point of contact on staff for Presidents and Presidents-Elects for the region, host virtual meetings using online tools monthly and document meeting minutes
  • - Support Chapter Boards and Chairs execute their role efficiently by linking them to Global resources
  • - Promote the PEAK program with each chapter, keep detailed records, share monthly matrix and follow up with members and chapter admins to support the success of the program
  • - Report on monthly chapter Forum reports and check-in with Presidents on status of Forum health, forum training and moderator training in each chapter
  • - Assist in preparing for the annual Presidents’ Meeting, ‘One Canada’ Regional Event (every 2 years), global learning conference (GLC) and support Canadian events as necessary
  • - Attend a minimum of three EO leadership and membership events/conferences per year and an annual Global staff week
  • - Communicate the benefits of multiple EO programs with chapters/ members and encourage engagement and participation
  • - Support GSEA chapter competitions by sourcing student applicants, securing school partnerships, finding judges and inviting media, and may be required to moderate an event
  • - Liaise with chapter administrators and support them in their role with the chapter
  • - Follow up with members with notes, EO resources, and calendar invites for monthly calls
  • - Support chapter launches in the region with planning and holding recruitment events
  • - Provide general assistance to the Director – Canada related to the health and growth of Canadian region as needed

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • > 4 -6 years business experience
  • > Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • > Familiar with MS Office
  • > Able to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work well in a global team environment
  • > Positive attitude, influential and self starter
  • > Ability to travel approximately 20% (nationally & internationally)
  • > Work hours may vary due to working in multiple time zones (HQ office hours are 8:30 – 5:30 EST)
  • > Last minute travel may be required

 

Preferred:

  • > 2-3 years direct membership/chapter relations experience
  • > Non-profit/association experience
  • > Account management skills
  • > Demonstrate professional writing skills, experience in detailed note taking and various administrative duties
  • > Oral communication skills – must be able to speak publically in front of small and large groups
  • > Experience in hosting online conference call and virtual meetings
  • > Experience with online collaborative tools ie. Same Page
  • > Demonstrated ability to adapt to change quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
  • > Strong interest in entrepreneurism, previous experience as an entrepreneur a plu
