Entrepreneurs' Organization Announces the Global Citizen of the Year Award Winner
-- Kenyan entrepreneur Sriram Bharatam led the organization's growth and expansion in Africa --
Alexandria, Virginia, USA (4 May 2015) – Today, Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO),
the world's leading peer-to-peer entrepreneurial organization, awarded
entrepreneur Sriram Bharatam, a distinguished member of EO East Africa,
its Global Citizen of the Year. The announcement occurred at the
organization's Global Leadership Conference (GLC),
where more than 1,000 entrepreneurial leaders from more than 48
countries are in San Diego, California for a three-day business
leadership conference. EO's global events are designed to galvanize
entrepreneurs looking to connect with a community of more than 10,000
members to gain leadership skills, perspective and awareness.
The
highly coveted award is given yearly to a member whose entrepreneurial
spirit, innovative and effective business approach transcends borders,
changes lives and sets an example for EO's peer-to-peer community.
"I've
been a member of EO for 10 years now. As I was starting two new
businesses in Kenya, I realized that there was a need to have a
community of entrepreneurs who could trust each other and serve as a
sounding board for learning and growth. My goal was to create a group of
likeminded entrepreneurs who would share common core values and work
together toward nurturing and growing their career paths," said Sriram
Bharatam, who has been vital to EO's growth in Africa given its newly
formed chapters Lagos, Nigeria, Nairobi, Kenya and Dar es Salaam,
Tanzania.

distinguished Global Citizen of the Year Award," said Blair Assaly, EO's
Global Chairman. "Throughout the last year, Sriram has embodied the
mindset of a global entrepreneur and has been a catalyst for EO's recent

place, Sriram has paved the way for EO in Africa by launching the

The Global Leadership Conference
(GLC), which is a yearly, exclusive gathering for EO member to share
experiences and apply them to their businesses and everyday lives, is
also an opportunity for EO San Diego members to interact with their
peers from 147 chapters around the world. The GLC will feature plenary
learning sessions regarding the business dimensions of influence,
