Entrepreneurs' Organization to Host Global Leadership Conference in San Diego
Alexandria, Virginia, USA (30 April 2015) -- More than 1,000 entrepreneurial leaders from more than 48 countries will gather in San Diego for a three-day business leadership conference organized by the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO). As the world’s premiere peer-to-peer entrepreneurial organization, EO’s global events are designed to galvanize entrepreneurs looking to connect with a community of more than 10,000 members to gain leadership skills, perspective and awareness.
The Global Leadership Conference (GLC), which is a yearly, exclusive gathering for EO members to share experiences and apply them to their businesses and everyday lives, is also an opportunity for EO San Diego members to interact with their peers from 147 chapters around the world. The GLC will feature plenary learning sessions regarding the business dimensions of influence, control, power and inspiration. EO Global Chairman Blair Assaly stated for the occasion: “For more than 27 years, EO has been supporting entrepreneurs in all corners of the world as they transform businesses, communities, industries and the lives of those they lead. During this year’s GLC, we are taking that support to another level by giving our member leaders the tools they need to come together and make a mark. In doing so, they will serve as greater catalysts of change and find new ways to give back through entrepreneurship.”
During the event, EO will also announce its coveted Global Citizen of the Year Award, which is given to a member whose entrepreneurial spirit, innovative and effective business approach transcends borders, changes lives and sets an example for EO’s peer-to-peer community.
“I’ve been a member of EO for 10 years now. As I was starting two new businesses in Kenya, I realized that there was a need to have a community of entrepreneurs who could trust each other and serve as a sounding board for learning and growth. My goal was to create a group of likeminded entrepreneurs who would share common core values and work together toward nurturing and growing their career paths,” said Sriram Bharatam, who has been vital to EO’s growth in Africa given its newly formed chapters Lagos, Nigeria, Nairobi, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
“It’s a great honor to present Sriram with EO’s distinguished Global Citizen of the Year Award,” said Blair Assaly, EO’s Global Chairman. “Throughout the last year, Sriram has embodied the mindset of a global entrepreneur and has been a catalyst for EO’s recent expansion in Africa. By implementing the right structure and culture in place, Sriram has paved the way for EO in Africa by launching the Africa 750 Initiative.”
The highly touted GLC will offer participants the opportunity to gain renewed leadership perspective by participating in innovative workshops that cater to their unique leadership skills and leadership roles; attend special learning sessions, where they will get acquainted with the principles of leadership and discover how to apply them in their personal and professional lives; and define their leadership legacy through experience sharing and a better understanding of the EO leadership model.
