EO Ottawa Holds 1st Annual Charity Poker Tournament

Ottawa, Canada (April 4th, 2011) – The Ottawa chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) is pleased to announce Casino Royal,  a casino tournament-style gala to benefit the Royal Ottawa Foundation and specifically the ‘Do It For Daron’ campaign. Not only does EO Ottawa play an integral role in the lives of 7,500+ entrepreneurs around the world, it also leaves an indelible mark on local communities. To be held on 20 April 2011, at Casino du Lac Lemey in Gatineau, this event will not only raise thousands of dollars it will shed light and awareness on this very serious issue.

 "One of the Entrepreneurs Organization’s core values is to ‘Make a Mark.’ This charity casino is one way that our members can effect change and leave a legacy by giving back to the community" stated Randy Woods, President, Ottawa Chapter.

EO members are woven into their communities more than just any business owner; their partners, employees and customers are also their neighbors. As such, the entrepreneurial community has a uniquely vested interest in, and devotion to, the health and well-being of their communities.

Govindh Jayaraman, Learning Director Canada, Head Learning Director Global, Learning Chair Ottawa Chapter and President-Elect Ottawa Chapter went on to say, “the amazing thing is that the Entrepreneurs Organization is one that spans the Globe. Having these energetic, can-do people in Ottawa leverages opportunities for the community and, in this case, the Royal Ottawa Foundation’s Do It for Daron Campaign. The Royal Ottawa's Foundation for Mental Health raises funds to support patient care and leading-edge research. Through it's You Know Who I Am anti-stigma campaign represented by Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson, the foundation is focused on building awareness and improving the health and lives of those living with mental illness. The 'Do It For Daron' campaign aims to raise funds for The Daron Fund supporting youth mental health at the Royal Ottawa Hospital.

"D.I.F.D. represents a community movement to harness energy and action to help more youth feel empowered. Involvement brings empowerment. Empowerment brings action and action leads to change," said Tim Kluke, president of the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health.
