19 August 2013 – Where did an art student find inspiration for an international business? On the floor.

Granted, the floor had quite a pedigree: It was a Roman mosaic design, with a repeating black-and-white pattern of marble. In 1990, Sara Baldwin was staring at the piece in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and found herself asking why these beautiful, durable floors were no longer made.
