Sceptics might wonder how you can build your business by sitting in a room with hundreds of strangers, listening to speakers drone on about issues you already know about. But savvy business owners know that conferences can provide unique opportunities to learn, promote your business and establish valuable relationships that can move you forward.
It's not just conferences within Australia that are useful. I make a point of attended a handful of overseas events each year. With the world becoming increasingly flat, you never know whether your next customer, employee, supplier or advocate could the person in front of you in the buffet queue at the conference dinner.
