Breakout Session: Overcoming Adversity in Business and in Life
Your building catches fire threatening to put you and your 275 employees out of business. A key employee (and the best man at your wedding) leads a mutiny taking 85 percent of your employees with him to open a competing business just two blocks away. Your four-year old son has emergency surgery to remove a brain tumor. Then, overnight, the mortgage industry collapses. The business is out of money. The bankruptcy papers are completed. What do you do?
Entrepreneur Mark Moses faced these adversities and used them to turn his business into the 10th fastest-growing company on the Inc. 500 list and the number one fastest-growing company in Los Angeles, California, USA. Hear real life experiences from a leading entrepreneur who has been on the brink of disaster several times, survived and went on to reinvent himself. In this session, you will learn from Mark’s experiences, as he teaches you how to:
- Make major decisions under pressure (even brain surgery!)
- Plan for the unplanned
- Survive and thrive in spite of massive adversity
- Recognize when it’s “midnight,” Cinderella
- Go through bankruptcy without actually “going through it”
- Traverse an industry as it implodes
- Realize that perception trumps reality
Take home important strategies that will help you not only deal with major adversity, but overcome it and thrive.
