Carlo Santoro was born and educated in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Throughout his school years, Carlo was active in the school sailing club and was captain of the hockey team, demonstrating at an early age his incredible ability to communicate with others and make things happen. An avid skier from six years old both in Australia and the US, Carlo was also a member of the Victoria Bike Team, road racing until a skiing accident put him out of action for a considerable time.

Carlo’s early employment included running a music retail store for five years, beginning at age fifteen, and working as a part-time waiter for the elite catering company, Peter Rowland. After graduating from high school and planning a career in accountancy, Carlo achieved qualifications both at TAFE and University before facilitating the start up a successful business of his own, developing and managing operations and IT infrastructure for retailers (www.retailcare.com.au). Santoro was twice a semi-finalist in the Channel Ten Young Achievers’ Awards – 1994 and 1995.

Carlo’s many interests include modern & vintage cars, property development, travel and motor racing. He is a member of the Alfa Romeo Club, Victorian Racing Club, Melbourne Cricket Ground and holds a CAMS racing license. Carlo has had a passionate interest in aircraft and aviation for over twenty years and has held a position on the Board of the RAAF Cadet Reference Committee (VIC) (4th Wing) and National Council since January 2003. These positions provided Carlo the incredible experience of a flight with the RAAF’s prestige aerobatic display team, The Roulettes.

Carlo’s drive and ambition have seen him instigate a variety of additional business ventures. He owns and has developed over three hundred websites and recently launched a niche market retail franchise operation in the heart of Melbourne, offering enthusiasts a unique experience involving flight simulation technology in a life-sized Boeing 737 simulator (www.flightexperience.com.au).

Santoro is highly skilled in business administration, change management and business planning. He has been an active member of many associations including The Australian Computer Society, Australian Institute of Managers, The Australian Company of Directors and Australia America Association. In 2004, Carlo began a Masters Degree at Swinburne University and holds an MEI - Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Since 1996 Carlo has been a member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organisation (EO) (www.eonetwork.org), holding a leadership position for the last nine years. As president of the Melbourne Chapter from 2000, Carlo progressed to Area and Regional Director Asia Pacific. Since 2007 he has held a prestigious position on the EO Global Board of Directors. Carlo is a dedicated member and has orchestrated a phenomenal growth in EO members worldwide.

Carlo is married with two young children and continues to live in Melbourne. He maintains his role as Managing Director of RetailCare and spends the bulk of his time as an accomplished consultant and mentor to the retail industry. Carlo is ALWAYS planning ahead.
